Metaphysical meaning of Candace (mbd)
Candace, can-da'-çe ((Gk. from Ethiopic)--queen of servants.
A queen of the Ethiopians whose servant was taught the truth concerning Jesus Christ and was baptized by Philip (Acts 8:27). The Ethiopians, or Cushites, were descendants of Ham, a son of Noah.
Meta. Ham refers to the physical in man. Ethiopia is a state of consciousness wherein the darkness of materiality and sense dwells. Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, is the ruling thought of that which Ethiopia signifies. This person's being a queen, and not a king, denotes the fact that the will of one who dwells in sense consciousness is directed by the feelings, desires, and emotions of the unawakened soul, the feminine, rather than by the reasoning mind, the masculine.
