Metaphysical meaning of Chios (mbd)
Chios, chl'-os (Gk.)--wine; fertility; open.
An island in the Ægean Sea. Paul came "over against" this island while he was on one of his missionary journeys (Acts 20:15).
Meta. An open, unobstructed, fertile attitude of thought; this thought relates closely to Spirit and life (wine). When man opens his intellectual reasoning mind so that the word of Truth (Paul) may find access, he is "over against" Chios.
