Metaphysical meaning of Elul (mbd)
Elul, e'-lul (Heb.)--the gleaning month; vine; outcry.
Sixth month of the Jewish sacred year, and twelfth month of their civil year (Neh. 6:15). It began in our September and lasted until the latter part of October, or into November. Authorities differ as to which of our months correspond to the Jewish months mentioned in the Bible.
Meta. A place of fruition in consciousness (the gleaning month), also the earnest desire of the soul for greater fruitfulness (outcry).
