Metaphysical meaning of Eshban (mbd)
Eshban, esh'-ban (Heb.)--man of understanding; thinking man; man of wisdom; wise man; son of fire.
Son of Dishon, or Dishan, a chief of the Horites (Gen. 36:26).
Meta. The belief, held by the outer man, that wisdom and understanding come through the perception and reasonings of the senses. (If Eshban had been an Israelite instead of a Horite, the significance of the name would be that of true understanding.)
