Metaphysical meaning of Eshcol (mbd)
Eshcol, esh'-col (Heb.)--cluster; cluster of grapes; a bunch; cluster, especially of grapes.
a An Amorite who was "confederate with Abram" (Gen. 14:13). b A valley in the land of Canaan, where the spies cut the bunch of grapes that had to be carried on a staff by two men. "That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from thence" (Num. 13:24).
Meta. The life forces in the subconsciousness; also a realization of their great fruitfulness in consciousness, and man's abundant possibilities through them.
