Metaphysical meaning of Gibeonites (mbd)
Gibeonites, g;b'-e-on-ltes (fr. Heb.)--of or belonging to Gibeon.
The Gibeonites of II Samuel 2 9 refer to the Canaanitish inhabitants of Gibeon, with whom the Israelites made a covenant of peace; they do not refer to the Benjamites and Levites who later inhabited the city of Gibeon.
Meta. Thoughts of the sensate or carnal phase of the subjective consciousness that aspire to higher and more spiritual ideals and try to reach these ideals by making an alliance with man's real, true thoughts (Israel).
