Metaphysical meaning of Hanan (mbd)
Hanan, ha'-nan (Heb.)--favorably disposed; gracious; merciful; compassionate.
There were several Israelitish men by this name; some of them were men of note (I Chron. 8:23, 38; 11:43; Ezra 2: 46; Neh. 8:7; 10:22, 26; 13:13; Jer. 35:4).
Meta. Kindness, forgiveness, compassion. The religious and spiritual consciousness of man (the Israelitish nation) abounds, or should abound, in thoughts of this character. Thoughts of fullness of the grace, or power and all-sufficiency, of the divine presence also belong to man's highest spiritual concepts (Israelites).
