Metaphysical meaning of Hatita (mbd)
Hatita, hat'--ta (Heb.)--digging; exploring; searching; inscribing; circumscribing; bending of sin; binding of sin.
His descendants were among the Temple porters who returned from the captivity (Ezra 2:42).
Meta. A belief, or activity, that helps to guard our highest religious and spiritual thoughts (a porter in the Temple was a doorkeeper). By thorough searching after new ideas of Truth and impressing them in consciousness (exploring digging, inscribing), the thought activity that Hatita signifies succeeds, to a certain extent at least, in binding and subduing much of that which is error in the individual (bending of sin, or binding of sin).
