Metaphysical meaning of Hattil (mbd)
Hattil, hat'-tll (Heb.)--pendulous; going to and fro; loose; wavering; vacillating; uncertain; doubtful.
His "children" were among the descendants of Solomon's servants who returned from the Captivity (Ezra 2:57).
Meta. A thought that, by serving the peace idea (which Solomon signifies here) in a negative way instead of being a strong factor in making and establishing peace in consciousness, has taken on a weak, changeable, wavering, doubtful tendency. This leads to decay and disintegration. (True peace and love are not weak qualities; they are strong, conquering, and enduring. One must be in dominion in order to obtain them consciously and to express them.)
