Metaphysical meaning of Hodesh (mbd)
Hodesh, ho'-desh (Heb.)--polish; make shine; make new; renew; the new -moon; day of the new moon, i.e., first of the month; month.
Wife of Shaharaim, of the tribe of Benjamin (I Chron. 8:9).
Meta. Shaharaim (double dawn, double morning) represents the breaking of new light in consciousness, doubly strong. Hodesh (new moon, or month, day of the new moon) suggests the reflection of this light in the soul while it is being carried into the body consciousness, for its renewal (make new). (The moon symbolizes reflected understanding, since it shines by borrowed light.)
