Metaphysical meaning of Jahaz (mbd)
Jahaz (in A. V., Joshua 13:18, Jahaza; Joshua 21:36, Jahazah), ja'-haz (Heb.)--trampled upon; a place trodden down; a threshing floor; contention; quarrel.
The place in the wilderness where the Israelites, under Moses, fought against and defeated Sihon, king of the Amorites (Num. 21:23).
Meta. A place in the wilderness of man's undisciplined thoughts wherein he gains a decided victory over sense desire (see SIHON and AMORITES), while he is on his journey toward spiritual perfection in both mind and body (the Promised Land).
A threshing floor, a place trodden down, trampled upon, contention, and quarrel denote the seeming trial, inharmony, inner conflict, and positive affirmation of Truth that usually precede and aid in bringing about man's victories over error.
