Metaphysical meaning of Jannai (mbd)
Jannai (A. V., Janna), jan-nå-i (Gk.)--oppression; suppression; affliction; humility; poverty.
Named as son of Joseph and father of Melchi, in the genealogy of Jesus (Luke 3:24).
Meta. "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 5:3). Jannai signifies the humbling of the little or personal self, to the end that the true I AM of the individual may be exalted. (Jannai is named in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, and thus signifies a step that must be taken in the unfoldment of Truth in individual consciousness, that the Christ may be born in one, that one may accomplish the new birth.)
