Metaphysical meaning of Jehu (mbd)
Jehu, je'-hu (Heb.)--Jehovah is He Jah is He; He is eternity of eternities, the life of life is He; the self-existent One is He.
a Son of Hanani, a prophet. He was sent to Baasha king of Israel to tell him what would be the result of his sins (I Kings 16:1). He was also sent to reprove Jehoshaphat king of Judah for helping the wicked king of Israel in his war with the Assyrians (II Chron. 19:2 see II Chron. 20:34 also). b The son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi. This Jehu was the one whom Elisha anointed king of Israel in place of Joram son of Ahab; Jehu destroyed the whole house of Ahab (II Kings 9:2 to 10:36). c There were other Israelites by the name of Jehu (I Chron. 2:38; 4:35; 12:3).
Meta. Jehu the "seer," the son of Hanani, signifying the grace or expressed power of Divine Mind, signifies the monitor or inner guide that intuitively perceives the right.
Jehu, "son of Nimshi" (I Kings 19:16), or grandson of Nimshi according to II Kings 9:2, signifies that error rule is to be put away and spiritual thoughts are to be affirmed and restored to supremacy through the consciousness of I AM Jehovah, eternally existing in us as our foundation Truth and overcoming power (Jehovah is He, the life of life is He, the self-existent One is He).
