Metaphysical meaning of Jezaniah (mbd)
Jezaniah, jez-a-ni'-ah (Heb.)--whom Jehovah hears; Jehovah understands; Jah balances; Jehovah determines; ear of Jehovah; implement of Jah; sharp weapon of Jehovah.
a "The son of the Maacathite," who came to Gedaliah at Mizpah (Jer. 40:8). He is called Jaazaniah in II Kings 25:23. b Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah is the same person as the Azariah of Jeremiah 43:2. (See Jeremiah 42:1, both text and margin.)
Meta. An uplifting thought in consciousness, based on the divine will (Jah determines) and on the assurance that Jehovah hears us, perceives our true desires, and establishes them to us. The sharp weapon of Jehovah is the word of God (see Heb. 4:12). (See JAAZANIAH and AZARIAH.)
