Metaphysical meaning of Joiada (mbd)
Joiada, joi'-a-då (Heb.)--whom Jehovah knows; perception of Jah; knowledge of Jah; whom Jah acknowledges; praising Jehovah; whom Jah makes thankful.
a Son of Eliashib, and his successor as high priest of Judah, under Nehemiah (Neh. 12:10). b A son of Paseah, one who repaired "the old gate," or "the gate of the old city," in the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem (Neh. 3:6 with margin). Joiada is a contraction of the name Jehoiada.
