Metaphysical meaning of Jorah (mbd)
Jorah, jo'-rah (Heb.)--watering; sprinkling; first rains; autumn rain.
One hundred and twelve of his descendants returned with Ezra from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:18); in Nehemiah 7:24 Hariph is given in place of Jorah.
Meta. Jorah (autumn rain, first rains, sprinkling) is symbolical of the "early" rain, or beginning of the outpouring of Spirit upon all flesh (the entire consciousness), preceding the harvest time of the earth (body, and earthly consciousness). (See Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17. See also Deuteronomy 11:14; Jeremiah 5:24; Joel 2:23, and James 5:7). Much is said in the Bible about the "early" or "former" and the "latter" rain.
Jorah also represents new and higher spiritual thoughts and activities that are born of one's harvest times of greater realizations of Spirit, preparatory to still further fruitions, or harvests, of spiritual understanding. See HARIPH.
