Metaphysical meaning of Kiriathaim (mbd)
Kiriathaim (A. V., Kirjathaim), kir'-a-tha'-im (Heb.)--double meeting; double joining; double city; large city.
a A city east of the Jordan that Moses gave to the tribe of Reuben (Josh. 13:19). b A city of Naphtali that was given over to the Gershomite Levites (I Chron. 6:76). This city is thought to be the same place as Kartan.
Meta. Kiriathaim of the tribe of Reuben would belong to the seeing, discerning faculty in individual consciousness, instead of the strength faculty. (See KARTAN.)
