Metaphysical meaning of Lois (mbd)
Lois, lo'-is (Gk.)--loosened; freed; agreeable; pleasing; better.
Mother of Eunice, and grandmother of Timothy (II Tim. 1:5).
Meta. The very free, unbound, pleasing state, and high, superior quality (better), of the soul that is established in faith and Truth. (The "unfeigned faith" that Paul recognized in Timothy dwelt first in his grandmother Lois, and in his mother Eunice.)
