Masrekah, mas'-re-kah (Heb.)--vineyard of noble (purple) vines; place of noble vines, i. e., bearing purple grapes; place of red streams.

A place in Edom; the home of Samlah, a king of Edom (Gen. 36:36).

Meta. Currents of vital thoughts, of thoughts of power (place of red streams, vineyard of noble (purple) vines, place of noble vines, i. e., bearing purple grapes; a vineyard symbolizing life, streams representing currents of thoughts, and purple bespeaking power), that are active in the outer physical organism of man, and are dominated by sense beliefs and ideas. (Masrekah was a place in Edom and had Samlah, king of Edom, for its central ruling thought. Edom refers to man's outer, seemingly physical and mortal consciousness and body.)
