Metaphysical meaning of Nymphas (mbd)
Nymphas, nym'-phas (Gk.)--a betrothed woman; recently espoused; young married woman; nymph-given.
A Christian of Laodicea to whom Paul sent salutation in his letter to the Colossians (Col. 4:15); evidently a woman. In the margin "her" is suggested in place of "their," which is used in the text.
Meta. Laodicea refers to a phase of the judgment faculty in individual consciousness. Nymphas (young married woman, nymph-given), a Christian of Laodicea, signifies a union of the Laodicea phase of the judgment faculty with the Christ, or, an introduction of the elements of divine love and mercy into one's intellectual conception of justice.________________________
