Metaphysical meaning of Onam (mbd)
Onam, o'-nam (Heb.)--able; strong; stout; vigorous; powerful; wealthy; substantial; luminous; brilliant.
a Son of Shobal and descendant of Seir the Horite (Gen. 36:23). b Son of Jerahmeel and his wife Atarah, of the tribe of Judah (I Chron. 2:26).
Meta. Thoughts pertaining to strength and vigor; also to understanding and substance. The Onam who was a Horite signifies a material belief in purely physical strength and power, outer possessions and the carnal thought of understanding. This would lead to inharmony and error experiences instead of to the good that comes from knowing Spirit as the one true source of all. (See ATARAH.)
