Metaphysical meaning of Othniel (mbd)
Othniel, oth'-n;-el (Heb.)--lion of God- God is strength; force of God.
Son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. Othniel was a judge and a deliverer of Israel (Judg. 3:9, 11). It was to him that Caleb gave his daughter Achsah for a wife, as a reward for his bravery (Judg. 1:13; see I Chronicles 27:15 also).
Meta. A consciousness of divine life strength, courage, and conquering power (God is strength, force of God, lion of God)
