Metaphysical meaning of Pul (mbd)
Pul, pul (Heb. from Skr.)--lofty; highest; lord; king; large; strong; elephant.
A king of Assyria, who came against Israel in the reign of Menahem, king of Israel, in Samaria. He was given a thousand talents of silver by Menahem to insure his support (II Kings 15:19).
Meta. The exalting of the intellect, guided by the senses, to the highest ruling place in individual consciousness (lofty, highest, lord, king, strong, elephant- Assyria refers to the intellectual in man). The meanings of this word show clearly the great capacity, substance, strength, and power with which intellectual ability is endowed by those who see in and through it the source of man's highest attainments.
