Seirah (A. V., Seirath), se'-i-rah (Heb.)--standing on end; bristling; hairy- rough; shrinking; shaking; shuddering; fearful; stormy; tempestuous; she-goat; wood nymph.
Ehud escaped to this place after he had killed Eglon, king of Moab, and there Ehud gathered the Children of Israel to fight against Moab (Judg. 3:26).
Meta. Seirah, being the feminine form of Seir, refers to the soul, receptive, or feminine phase of that which Seir signifies.
