Metaphysical meaning of Sheshach (mbd)
Sheshach, she'-shach (derivation unknown)--Babel; gate fastened with iron; secure habitation; pride; arrogance; warlike pursuits.
A name relating to Babylon, given by Jeremiah (Jer. 25:26; 51:41).
Meta. The seemingly established sate (gate fastened with iron, secure habitation) of unredeemed man in that which Babylon or Babel signifies. (See BABEL and BABYLON.) Error, however, is not true; it is due to be overthrown in consciousness, according to the prophecies of Jeremiah (spiritual faith in us that demands that our every religious thought must be true to the observance of divine law, thus bringing about true understanding, peace, poise, and harmony in place of the confusion and sense of Babylon).
