Metaphysical meaning of Shimron (mbd)
Shimron (in A. V., I Chron. 7:1, Shimrom), shim-ron (Heb.)--extended; watch; watch place; extreme vigilance; careful keeping; watch height.
a Son of Issachar (Gen. 46:13). b A city of Zebulun (Josh. 19:15). Shimron-meron of Joshua 12:20 is thought to be the same city.
Meta. A watchful, observant, attentive attitude being raised to a high plane in the faculties of mind in the individual that Issachar and Zebulun represent (watch height, watch place, extended watch).
