A Tribute to Donald Curtis by Catherine Ponder
1915-1997
Graduating from Northwestern University, Donald was a speech professor at 21, then an actor on Broadway and later Hollywood. He studied New Thought and became a minister.
He loved to tell this story about Catherine Ponder. “I showed her how to conduct prosperity seminars using her books. Later, after speaking in a church, the minister said, ‘I’m embarrassed. Catherine just led a prosperity seminar here. It was so successful that it temporarily cleaned us out. I hope you understand and accept a humble love offering.’”
A talented professor. Teacher. Actor. Lecturer. Counselor. Minister. One of Donald’s proudest moments was when he was ordained a Unity minister by — Dorothy Pierson, whom he referred to as his “spiritual mother.”
