Metaphysical meaning of Dalmanutha (mbd)
Dalmanutha, dal-ma-nu'-tha (Gk.)--overhanging branch; bucket.
The place on the west shore of the Sea of Galilee to which Jesus went with His disciples after the feeding of the multitude with the seven loaves and the few small fishes (Mark 8:10).
Meta. A faculty in consciousness (overhanging branch) that has only a limited understanding of, and capacity to contain, the waters of life (signified by bucket). Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee (life activity) in a boat in order to reach Dalmanutha. Jesus did not stay long in this place, because the Pharisees met Him at once and began to question Him and to ask for a sign: the I AM cannot remain in such a limiting, doubting condition of mind, but departs quickly "to the other side."
