Metaphysical meaning of Ijon (mbd)
Ijon, I'-jon (Heb.)--ruin; rubbish; heap, i. e., of a ruin.
A city of Naphtali that was smitten by Benhadad, king of Syria (I Kings 15:20).
Meta. The deterioration (ruin) that results in man's consciousness when the ruling intellectual thought, which works only for the outer things of the sense life (Benhadad, king of Syria), utilizes the strength of mind and body (Naphtali), which should be exercised only in spiritual ways to the uplifting of the organism to its highest good.
