Metaphysical meaning of Nereus (mbd)
Nereus, ne'-reus (Gk.)--by the water; wet; god of water.
A Christian at Rome. Paul sent salutations to him (Rom. 16:15).
Meta. A rather negative (wet, god of water) phase of thought that is of the head, or intellect (Rome), yet has access to the realm of unformed ideas (by the water) and has accepted the Christ Truth, which imparts true illumination and stability.
