An Israelitish priest, son of Amzi (Neh. 11:12).
Meta. The significance of this name is that true judgment, inspiration, and prayer are spiritual, are of Jehovah, the Christ (Jah judges; Jah is thinker; Jah intercedes). By earnest desire (entreating the Lord) and by thinking on Jehovah, man becomes spiritually discerning, discriminative, and divinely just in his judgment.
