Metaphysical meaning of Tabbaoth (mbd)
Tabbaoth, tab'-ba-oth (Heb.)--impressions; indentures; marks; signatures; spots; signets; signet rings; rings.
His descendants were among the Nethinim who returned from the Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:43).
Meta. The man named Tabbaoth signifies a thought activity that is still in bondage to the elements of the world--a "bondservant" (see Galatians 4:1,3)--but is getting hold of the idea of sonship as to God, of the Truth that is eternal and is on the way to true deliverance: his "children" returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity.
The word Tabbaoth (impressions, indentures, marks, signatures, spots, signets, signet rings) bespeaks the central idea, ideas, or characteristics that identify a thought, state of consciousness, or even the individual in his entirety, making known its or his standing in relation to Truth, to Spirit.
