Metaphysical meaning of upharsin (mbd)
upharsin, u-phär'-sin (Heb.)--and shall be divided; and they divide; and shall be broken in fragments; and shall be sundered. It is a significant fact that parsi, by a simple vocal change without any change in characters, means a Persian. So it seems that not only what was to take place, but also the force destined to accomplish it, is contained in the word One of the words of the handwriting that appeared on the wall during Belshazzar's feast (Dan. 5:25).
