Metaphysical meaning of Uzzen-sheerah (mbd)
Uzzen-sheerah (A. V., Uzzen-sherah), uz'-zen-she'-e-rah (Heb.)--point; summit of Sheerah; acuteness of the flesh; ear of the flesh; hearing of blood relative.
A city that was built by Sheerah the daughter of Ephraim (I Chron. 7:24).
Meta. A high idea of relationship, or the human idea of kinship raised to its highest standard (summit of Sheerah, acuteness of the flesh, ear of the flesh, hearing of blood relative). In Sheerah we find the thought of blood relatives, kindred, of the same flesh. Ear and hearing denote that this belief in flesh kinship is becoming attentive to some higher and more nearly spiritual idea, while summit of Sheerah signifies the lifting up of the Sheerah idea to its highest point of understanding.
