A prophet, according to Charles Fillmore, is “one who receives the inspiration of Spirit, understands spiritual law, and inspires it in others.” That definition fits Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah and the others who, through their prophecies, interpreted the signs of the times and received inspiration from God to guide the people. Charles Fillmore believed that prophecy did not end with the prophets of Old Testament times. In fact, Charles considered himself to be a modern day prophet. His prophecy of the Unity Church Universal which he introduced in the second Unity convention in 1924 fulfilled the ideals of Jesus Christ--a universal brotherhood of peace. In addition to exploring the common themes from the ancient prophets, we will explore our own inner prophet as a source of inspiration and guidance for our times.
