Lesson Welcome and Introduction
Almost everyone is aware of Myrtle Fillmore’s healing from tuberculosis, but very few are aware of the ministry which followed. Even before she was ordained, her ministry was up to the standard of Jesus as she healed the sick, the lame, and the blind. In this series of classes we will explore how one woman’s healing led to a global healing ministry. The introductory class features a silent film Unity: A View and A Vision which conveys better than words can describe the spirit of Unity in its golden years. This series is designed to inspire students with the history of Unity through learning of the significant events and the development of consciousness that preceded these events. The focus will be on the spiritual practices of the Fillmores: The Practice of Silence and affirmative prayer, metaphysical Bible study, and the use of covenants for the purpose of carrying on this awesome legacy that has been entrusted to us. Below is a tentative syllabus for this course:
- June 6: Silent Film and Introduction
- June 13: The Synergy of Charles and Myrtle and their Commitment to Truth
- June 20: Spreading the Word: Unity Literature and Important Documents
- June 27: Silent Unity and Local Healing
- July 4: Continuing the Legacy
Please preregister and indicate if you would like copies of documents from the Unity Archives.
