Metaphysical meaning of Jehovah-nissi (mbd)
Jehovah-nissi, je-ho'-vah-nis-si (Heb.)--Jehovah is my high standard; Jehovah is my conspicuous sign; Jehovah is my banner; Jehovah is my admonisher.

The name that Moses gave to the altar that he built on the hill where his hands were held up by Aaron and Hur so that Joshua and the Children of Israel might defeat the Amalekites. Jehovah here promised Moses, "I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi; and he said, Jehovah hath sworn" (Exod. 17:14, 15).

Meta. I AM, recognized by the individual as his standard of right, as his elevating and overcoming power, his defense from and victory over all error or lesser ideals than the one divine perfection (Jehovah is my high standard, Jehovah is my banner, "Jehovah hath sworn").
