Metaphysical meaning of Oholibamah (mbd)
Oholibamah (A.V., Aholibamah), o-hol'-;-ba'-mah (Heb.)--tent of the high place; tent of the height; my tabernacle is exalted; my dwelling is on high.
"Daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite," and wife of Esau (Gen. 36:2). In verses 24 and 25 the inference is that Anah was a son of Zibeon, instead of a daughter.
Meta. Zibeon means wild robber, and the Hivites are thoughts belonging to the carnal consciousness in man. Esau husband of Oholibamah, also pertains to the outer or the body. Oholibamah (granddaughter of Zibeon, a Hivite, and wife of Esau, and meaning tent of the high place, my tabernacle is exalted) signifies the lifting up and exalting of materiality, of the seemingly material phase of the organism of the individual, by the carnal phase of the soul.
