Metaphysical meaning of Samothrace (mbd)
Samothrace (A. V., Samothracia), sam'-o-thrace (Gk.)--Samos of Thrace; height of Thrace.
An island in the northern part of the Ægean Sea. Paul came to this island on his first missionary journey into Europe (Acts 16:11).
Meta. The interpretation is virtually the same as that of Samos, which see. The state of thought that Samos and Samothrace symbolize is intellectual rather than spiritual, since their location is in the Grecian Archipelago and Greece refers to the intellect.
