Metaphysical meaning of Cos (mbd)
Cos (A.V., Coos), cos (Gk.)--summit.
A small island in the Ægean Sea, or Grecian Archipelago (Acts 21:1); Paul stopped there for a day while on one of his missionary journeys.
Meta. Cos means summit; Rhodes, roses; Phoenicia, land of palm trees; Cyprus, fairness. These places symbolize certain pleasant phases of consciousness in the individual who is seeking the highest, but they are not, strictly speaking, on the spiritual plane.
