Here is the 1956 Unity Ministers Association Yearbook. Members of Unity Annual Conference are listed in pages 4-27 and Licensed Unity Ministers and Teachers are listed in pages 29-37. This is a dramatic increase in the number of both centers and ministers from 1946.
There may be more, but there are at least four African Americans who are leading their own congregation at this time — Helen Mouton of Christ Unity Center in Los Angeles, Mabel Butts of Unity Center of Christianity in Atlanta, Henrietta Gorden of Southside Unity Center of Christianity in Chicago and Corine Smith of Loving Heart Unity Center in Houston.
