Metaphysical Bible Interpretation of Psalms 98
Metaphysically Interpreting Psalms 98:1-9
A Psalm.
98:1Oh sing unto Jehovah a new song;
For he hath done marvellous things:
His right hand, and his holy arm,
hath wrought salvation for him.
98:2Jehovah hath made known his salvation:
His righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the nations.
98:3He hath remembered his lovingkindness and his faithfulness
toward the house of Israel:
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.98:4Make a joyful noise unto Jehovah, all the earth:
Break forth and sing for joy, yea, sing praises.
98:5Sing praises unto Jehovah with the harp;
With the harp and the voice of melody.
98:6With trumpets and sound of cornet
Make a joyful noise before the King, Jehovah.98:7Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;
The world, and they that dwell therein;
98:8Let the floods clap their hands;
Let the hills sing for joy together
98:9Before Jehovah; for he cometh
to judge the earth:
He will judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with equity.

What is the esoteric meaning of the word Jehovah? Moses says in Exod. 3:14 that Jehovah told him that his name means: “I AM THAT I AM.” Hebrew students say that the original word is “Yeve,” which means the ever-living male and female principle. Lee's Hebrew lexicon identifies this name with Christ, as the manifestation of God, who speaks to patriarchs and prophets. Jesus confirms this in Matt. 22:42, where he reveals that the Christ existed before David, whose son he was supposed to be.
When man sings, and praises the ever-living Spirit, what is the effect? Songs of praise and thanksgiving harmonize the mind, increase the activity of the cells of the organism, and cause man to realize more life and joy even in bodily existence.
Define: “His right hand, and his holy arm, hath wrought salvation for him.” This refers to the executive power of Spirit. When divine will gains control in consciousness, one is saved from negative thinking.
What is the meaning of: “His righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the nations”? Man may think that he rules in the world, but he finds that there is a divine law, which eventually equalizes, and restores order and harmony in all things.
What is the metaphysical meaning of: “Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof”? The sea represents universal life, which responds to the expression of joy.
What is the meaning of: “Let the floods clap their hands”? The metaphysical meaning is: Let the overflow of vitality in consciousness receive the efficiency to praise and serve Divine Law.
What is it to “let the hills sing for joy together”? This means to let the high places in consciousness unite in singing joy before the spiritual I AM. (Jehovah – Christ within), for he is consciously recognized as the righteous judge of our world, within and without.
